In plain language: what we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have. No jargon.
Last updated: July 2026
NOXEN is a free education platform. We are not in the business of selling your data, and we collect as little of it as possible. This page explains, honestly, what happens to any information you share with us.
We collect as little as possible, and only when you choose to give it:
You never need an account to read anything on NOXEN. Accounts exist only to save your own content — your portfolio, your progress — so it follows you between devices. We use a magic link to sign you in (a one-time link sent to your email), so there is no password to create or for us to store.
If you use the My Portfolio tracker without an account, the holdings you enter are saved only in your own browser — not on our servers. If you clear your browser data or switch device, that information stays with the browser you entered it in.
If you log in, your holdings are saved to your account so you can see them on any device. That data is stored securely (via Supabase, see below) and is only ever visible to you. You can delete any holding at any time, and deleting your account removes it entirely.
To show live prices, the tracker sends the stock ticker symbols you enter to a third-party market-data provider (Finnhub) to look up the current price. It does not send any personal information along with them.
Like most websites, NOXEN uses a few trusted third parties to function. Each has its own privacy policy:
NOXEN does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell data to advertisers. Any storage we use is limited to what makes the site work — such as remembering your tracker entries in your own browser, as described above.
NOXEN is written for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, we'd encourage you to check with a parent or guardian before subscribing with your email address. We don't knowingly collect any more information than the email you choose to give us.
NOXEN is educational. The guides, figures, and tools — including the portfolio tracker — are for information only and are not personalised financial advice. Always do your own research, and speak to a qualified adviser before making financial decisions.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can clear your tracker data at any time by removing individual holdings or clearing your browser storage. If you'd like us to delete an email address we hold, just get in touch.
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. As NOXEN grows and adds new features, we'll keep this explanation current and in plain language.
